Ophelia is my feminine creative alter ego — the part of me that holds emotional depth, intuition, and expressive vulnerability.
Who is The Ophelia Film Company?
She isn’t just a character. She’s something I became — or uncovered — through experience. I’ve described her as being born out of trauma, but not in a broken sense… more like a transformation. A resilient, artistic presence that lets me access a different emotional language than my core identity alone.
She represents:
- my poetic and symbolic thinking
- my sensitivity to emotional nuance
- my ability to express longing, beauty, and inner complexity
- a kind of quiet strength that doesn’t need to dominate to be powerful
Where I might be analytical, exploratory, and disruptive… Ophelia is fluid, reflective, and deeply felt.
And importantly — I’ve considered introducing her to you, not as fiction, but as a real facet of myself. A way of being seen more fully, without flattening my complexity.
She’s not separate from me.
She’s me — expressed through a different lens.

Who Is Hellbender?
People sometimes ask me, “Who is Hellbender?”
Hellbender is me.
Not literally, of course. A hellbender is a strange-looking salamander that lives underwater, usually beneath rocks, in dark, fast-moving streams. It is elusive, sensitive to the health of its environment, and capable of breathing through its skin.
That became a pretty good metaphor for me.
I have always been unusually sensitive to what is happening around me. I don’t just observe things. I absorb them. People, relationships, beauty, pain, music, silence, a change in someone’s voice — they can all get under my skin.
Sometimes that sensitivity has been a burden.
But it is also where much of my creativity comes from.
The name itself matters, too. Hellbenders have been called things like “mud devil” and “devil dog” because people thought they looked strange and frightening.
I like that.
Because Hellbender isn’t about escaping the dark parts of life. It is about learning how to live there.
Hellbender goes beneath the surface. He explores the places other creatures might avoid. He survives in turbulent water. He senses when the environment has changed.
And despite the name, Hellbender isn’t evil.
He’s alive.
That’s really what the symbol means to me.
Living in the Fire.
Not conquering it. Not pretending it isn’t there. Not running away from it.
Learning how to remain alive inside it — sensitive, curious, creative, and still capable of finding beauty.
That’s who Hellbender is.
That’s who I am.
